Dear Friends, Educators, and Advocates,

​It is with great honor and excitement that I introduce myself as the President-Elect of the Rio Grande Valley - Texas Association for Bilingual Education (RGV-TABE). For many years, RGV-TABE has been a steadfast advocate for bilingual students and educators across Region One, promoting biculturalism and biliteracy to help shape the bright futures of our students. I am thrilled to continue this meaningful work alongside all of you!

At RGV-TABE, we believe wholeheartedly in the power of additive bilingual education as the key to success for our Bilingual/ESL students. It’s not just about mastering a new language, but also about honoring both cultures, achieving academic excellence, and fostering age-appropriate English proficiency. This approach helps our students succeed in both their home language and English, setting them on the path toward lifelong achievement.

As President-Elect, my vision is to foster a time of unity, support, and advocacy. I am committed to ensuring that we uplift all students, especially those whose voices may not yet be heard or who may feel marginalized. Together, we will continue to advocate for their needs and ensure they have the opportunities to thrive and succeed.

Looking ahead, I am excited to collaborate with each of you as we explore best practices, navigate challenges, and shape the future of bilingual education here in the Rio Grande Valley. This is a pivotal time for our field, and your passion, insights, and dedication will be the driving force behind the progress we continue to make.
