RGV-TABE Teacher of the Year
Each year, RGV-TABE proudly recognizes two exceptional educators—one in Bilingual Education and one in ESL (English as a Second Language)—to represent our region at the state level. This award honors teachers who demonstrate outstanding commitment, leadership, and impact in the field of bilingual and ESL education.

Nomination & Selection Process
Teachers may be nominated by directors, colleagues, or community members. Once nominated, the teacher will be notified and asked to submit a one-page essay explaining why they deserve to be recognized as RGV-TABE’s Bilingual or ESL Teacher of the Year.

A selection committee will review all submitted essays and conduct interviews with finalists. Winners will be chosen based on their written essay, their dedication to students, and their contribution to bilingual education.

Project Professional Development Sessions
Starting in the 2025–2026 school year, RGV-TABE will proudly offer two free professional development sessions designed to support educators pursuing certification in Bilingual Education, ESL, or BTLPT (Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test).

These sessions aim to empower educators with the tools, strategies, and confidence needed to successfully obtain their certifications and continue making a difference in bilingual classrooms.

Who Qualifies:
These sessions are free and open to the public, with a special focus on teachers seeking Bilingual/ESL certification or BTLPT preparation.

How to Register:
A flyer will be posted and shared through our website and social media platforms. It will include a link for registration and additional session details.
Stay tuned for announcements and don’t miss the opportunity to grow with us!
